 GEMMA RITCHIE

Gemma's work is inspired by the wildlife, countryside and huge, open skies that surround her home on the edge of Dartmoor. She is particularly interested in exploring the secretive world that springs quietly to life around us as dusk falls. 

Protecting this environment is of highest priority to her. 

All of the cards and prints she produces are printed on 100% recycled paper, or made from sustainable bamboo fibres, and she hopes to be able to move towards printing by hand in vegetable-based inks over the course of the following year.

 PHILLIP WYATT

Rediscovering the joy of paint has been a marvellous experience for Phillip- “ like falling in love all over again”. Like a child, the simple pleasure of making marks and playing with colour was the initial idea. The inspiration for the work originates from a photograph he took of Cramond Island in Scotland: a rugged place of giant boulders, dishevelled buildings and grey sands. He finds the process of repetition highly addictive: allowing colour and form, via mark making, to suggest an alternate landscape. It’s a work still in progress.

KATIE SCOTT-HAMILTON

Katie, who is currently the art technician at St. Peters C of E Aided School in Exeter, is hoping to return to her studies in the arts in September. Her work focuses on themes of communication, relationships and memory using a variety of media, mixed media and found objects which she incorporates into her art work.
