A flagship for the city of Exeter, the theatre is a magnet for tens of thousands of people of all ages who are interested in attending live performance.
If you've ever wanted to see behind the scenes of a working theatre, to see the stage from the wings or the lighting box, poke around the dressing rooms and hear some of the tales from the people who work here then come along and join us as we throw our doors open to the public.
Our popular Spires cafe bar will be open all day serving delicious meals and snacks and there will be a treasure trail for family groups.
Heritage Open Days celebrates England's architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that usually charge for admission or are not normally open to the public.
It is a once a year chance to discover hidden architectural treasures and enjoy a wide range of tours, events and activities which bring local history and culture to life.
The event is coordinated nationally by English Heritage and is England's biggest and most popular voluntary cultural event. Last year the event attracted 1 million visitors.
Properties taking part in Exeter include Topsham Museum, Pynes Water Treatment Works, Barnfield Theatre, Bill Douglas Centre for the History of Cinema and Popular Culture (University of Exeter), Exeter's Underground Passages, Exeter City Football Club, Met Office and Exeter Synagogue.
