Actor call-out – The Stories We Tell

Performer, writer and producer Hannah Kumari is looking to collaborate with 3 Devon-based actors to devise a promenade piece for 2 sharings at the Northcott Theatre on May 1st, inspired by Black and Global Majority representation in the Northcott’s Heritage archive, over the theatre’s 55 year history.

The piece will be inspired by stories and materials from the archive, as well as community workshops which Hannah will be offering throughout April. People from the workshops will have a chance to be part of the performance, too, if they would like.

Hannah particularly welcomes interest from actors from Black and Global Majority backgrounds, who enjoy movement, devising and making work inspired by real stories. Experience and desire to work with communities is also welcomed. Any previous experience of working with archives is a plus, but not required.
