Artists Callout – HYPERLOCAL

Poster of a piece of toast with text overlay reading

We are all having to get creative in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic. Although we are physically restricted during this period of government lockdown, our imaginations are still free to roam, and as makers we’re still keen to realise our ideas.

In the spirit of adaptation, we are offering 10 micro-commissions to freelance artists working in any discipline who live in Devon or Cornwall, to explore the hyperlocal of their immediate domestic environment. £500 will be awarded to each successful project, to cover all fees and costs.

Project partners are: Arts and Culture University of Exeter, Exeter Northcott Theatre, Exeter Phoenix, and Kaleider.

Outputs must:
• Respond to the hyperlocal, and take inspiration from the immediate domestic environment
• Produce a final artwork (poem, dance, music, song, installation, painting, sculpture, print, photograph, graphics, design, etc) to be shared on project partner websites – images, sound or video files to be submitted, IP stays with artist
• Be light-touch – about two days to make

To apply

To apply please complete this Google Form by 5pm, Tuesday 7 April.

By applying, you are giving permission for your details to be shared with the selection panel, to be used for the sole purpose of awarding the commissions.
