Open Auditions for Peter Pan

Exeter Northcott Theatre is looking for local children to join the cast of its magical Christmas show Peter Pan. The theatre would like to find talented young actors who will be aged between 10 and 15 on 1st September 2016 to play the parts of the Lost Boys. It is also searching for two really special young male actors to play Michael and John.

For over a hundred years children (and adults) have drifted off to sleep dreaming of Tinkerbell, the Lost Boys, fairy dust, crocodiles and of course the villainous Captain Hook.  Featuring death defying feats of flying and a generous sprinkling of fairy dust, Peter Pan will be a brand-new stage adaptation of J.M Barrie’s classic story and will be produced by Exeter Northcott Theatre.

The performances will be split between two teams of young actors. Exeter Northcott Theatre is searching for:

  • 12 Lost Boys (aged between 10 and 15 on 1st September 2016)
  • 2 Michaels (aged 10 or 11 on 1st September 2016)
  • 2 Johns (aged 12 or 13 on 1st September 2016).

These are acting roles and no singing or dancing experience is required.

The first round of auditions will be held on Saturday 21 May from 11am – 1pm at Kay House on the University of Exeter’s Streatham campus. The audition will be in the form of a drama workshop.

For more information and to register interest via an application form, please email Lisa Hudson, Education and Outreach Officer, at [email protected].

Please be aware that the commitment will be to a 6 – 8 week rehearsal period of up to two evenings per week and some Saturdays from mid-October. In addition, children will need to be available for 25 performances which will include 6-7 part days off school. They will be expected to attend school even on performance days, and on days after an evening performance.

Exeter Northcott Theatre is also looking for 3 mermaids (3 female performers with singing experience aged 16 –20 on the 1st September 2016). An audition call for these parts will follow shortly.
