You can help Exeter Northcott to make a real difference! As part of the Theatre’s commitment to green travel, we aim to provide as many travel options as possible in order to reduce car dependency, cut down on pollution and protect the environment.

By Bus

The UNI bus has replaced the D bus and runs via the High Street to right in front of the theatre’s main entrance. The bus remains part of Stagecoach’s public network and live departure and arrival times as well as timetables can be checked on the Stagecoach website. The current UNI bus timetable can be viewed here.

By Train

We are easy to reach from both Exeter Central Station and St Davids Station. The UNI bus stops right outside Central Station, every 15 minutes on Mon-Fri and every 30 mins on Saturday. From St Davids, it’s a 1 km walk up the hill, or a short taxi ride from the taxi stand by the station entrance.

Walking or Cycling

We’d like to encourage those who are able to walk or cycle to the Theatre to do so whenever they can. There are several cycle paths and lanes in and around the theatre and University campus to ensure the safety of cyclists and there is a Cycle Park to the left of the theatre, which is part of the Great Hall Piazza.

Green Matinees

Green Matinees are discounted midweek performances that you can attend using public transport.

By Car

The nearest car parks to the theatre are Car Parks C & D located only a few minutes’ walk away.  At busy times and for larger events (such as those at The Great Hall) it may be necessary to park in Car Parks A & B which are an 8-10 minute walk way. Alternatively, on-street parking is available on Prince of Wales Road.

Free blue badge parking spaces are located in Car Park C and at the rear entrance to the theatre on The Queen’s Drive. Blue badge holders can park in these spaces at any time of day, seven days a week.

Weekday Matinee Parking

For weekday matinee performances (parking before 4pm), there is pay-and-display parking in visitor Car Park C, located right across from the theatre. For these car parks the university uses the PayByPhone app, which you can download here:

You can also pay via the PayByPhone website or phone number. When parking in Car Park C, please use the location code 804186 when using PayByPhone. Please note that paying in cash is not possible.

On-street metered parking is also available nearby, on Prince of Wales Road (a 5-10 minute walk away).

Evening and Weekend Parking

Parking on campus after 4pm, Mon – Fri, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays is currently free in all car parks, except car park B.
