By Bus
The UNI bus has replaced the D bus and runs via the High Street to right in front of the theatre’s main entrance. The bus remains part of Stagecoach’s public network and live departure and arrival times as well as timetables can be checked on the Stagecoach website.
By Train
We are easy to reach from both Exeter Central Station and St Davids Station. The UNI bus stops right outside Central Station, every 15 minutes on Mon-Fri and every 30 mins on Saturday. From St Davids, it’s a 1 km walk up the hill, or a short taxi ride from the taxi stand by the station entrance.
Walking or Cycling
We’d like to encourage those who are able to walk or cycle to the Theatre to do so whenever they can. There are several cycle paths and lanes in and around the theatre and University campus to ensure the safety of cyclists and there is a Cycle Park to the left of the theatre, which is part of the Great Hall Piazza.
Green Matinees
Green Matinees are discounted midweek performances that you can attend using public transport. Where they are available, Green Matinees are highlighted on our event pages.
By Car
During the run of Treasure Island, you may park in visitor as well as permit-holder only car parks on campus – the theatre’s loading bay excluded – and no parking charges will be be enforced.
There is a small charge of 50p for parking on campus after 6pm Mon – Fri, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. For this the university uses the PayByPhone app, which you can download here:
The nearest car parks to the theatre are Car Parks C & D located only a few minutes’ walk away. At busy times and for larger events (such as those at the Great Hall) it may be necessary to park in Car Parks A & B which are an 8-10 minute walk way. Alternatively, on-street parking is available on Prince of Wales Road.
Blue badge parking spaces are located in Car Park C and at the rear entrance to the theatre on The Queen’s Drive.
